Razakar: Cast, Crew, Controversies

Razakar’s movie is based on the Hyderabad Liberation Movement of 1948. It shows the struggles, and fights, of Andhra Pradesh and the people residing there during the Independence period to regain their identity and religion in the face of political and military persecution.

The movie will be released in theaters on 15 March 2024 in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam. The running time will be 2hr 35 min.

The director stated that the movie is significant because young people need to learn about the history of the Nizams and their militia, the Razakar force. Understanding the past is one thing. It is another way to know it through images.

The Writer had stated that the movie’s quality would be outstanding.

Plot:

>On 15th August 1947, while the rest of India was celebrating independence, Hyderabad faced a year’s delay in freedom. During this, the people were withstood oppression under the rule of the Nizam and the Rajakars.

>It tells the story of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s strategic efforts to liberate the Deccan region, which was tightly controlled by the Nizam’s authority.

Controversies:

  • On Wednesday, the Telangana High Court refused to interfere with the movie’s release.
  • Afsar Jahan, the petitioner’s attorney, stated that there is a risk that this movie will offend Muslims and Hindus.
  • BRS, MLC from Nizamabad appealed for strictly rejecting the film and not promoting such movies.
