Indian 2 is an upcoming action film, The film was directed by S. Shankar. It is produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. The language of the movie will be Tamil and lately it will be in many other languages as well. The follow-up to the mainly successful 1996 movie is called Indian 2.
The main lead actor will be Kamal Hasnaan who will be seen acting as Senapathy, an elderly freedom fighter turned vigilante who battles corruption. As per the announcement, the details of the movie are kept under wraps.

Indian 2 Release:
The movie was previously announced in the year 2017, the film was publicly unveiled during the conclusion of the Tamil reality television show Bigg Boss in Chennai and started to begin in 2019 but in 2020 due to the accident and death of a crew member, the preparation of the movie is stopped. Later the COVID-19 Pandemic hit and the movie was delayed for years.
The movie was resumed in August 2022The film’s production is allegedly set to wrap in the next weeks. As per the news, a song starring Siddharth and Priya Bhavani Shankar is currently being filmed.
Indian 2 was planned to be released on the festival of Dusshera or Diwali in 2023 but again it was delayed.
The new release date which was announced recently is April 11, 2024, which will be on Eid-al-Fitr and the eve of Tamil New Year.
The film will be divided into two parts as the movie duration is 6 hours, so it will be for 3 hours each. The next part’s name will be Indian 3 as it contains the next part of the movie. This will be shot as soon as the first part is completed and released in theaters.
Accident during the shoot:
On February 19, 2024, a crane carrying heavy flash and other stuff fell, and due to that three crew members died and ten were injured during the shoot.

On 3 November 2023, a promotional glimpse of the movie is released on YouTube. The trailer shows Senapathy’s reappearance in response to the popular desire to be referred to as a fighter for justice. It also contained cartoons of a man wearing a giant fuzzy head of a mouse depicting corruptly influential characters, as well as R. K. Laxman’s The Common Man figure.
